Immersion heaters are the most efficient heating method since the heat is applied directly to the product. Since just the top eight inches of the riser are heated, fluctuations in liquid level won't harm the heating element. A 55-gallon steel barrel with a 2-inch bung hole is compatible with a heater.

The heater may be moved to a location away from the drum's wall and higher above any sludge that may have settled on the bottom of the drum using the bracket. If the pilot light is on, the heater is on. Single-phase, NEMA 1 control housings are standard on all heaters.
