Good barrel, but would be better with bunghole tool, July 18, 2020By: Steve in Chicago, July 18, 2020The barrel was priced competitively, but getting the bungholes open to put in the spigot for my rain barrel proved difficult without the specially-made tool. It would be nice if these either had simpler caps or the tool was provided with the purchase. Overall, solidly made, and useful for the purpose.
Rain Barrel, July 15, 2020By: Geo, July 15, 2020The rain barrel was clean, did not have a smell. I sealed the one opening with double screen. First hard rain I did not receive enough water.
Next rain I covered the complete top of the barrel with solar insect free screen, holding it in place with a 3 ft heavy duty bungee cord. But before sealing I drilled two holes near each opening since the two openings were higher than the rim. It was not as heavy of a rain but i was able to get more water. 1/3 of a barrel.
I have a small 12 v pump to transfer water and I did not want to install a faucet.
