DOT Regulations require that closures on UN-Specification packaging must be tightened to the container manufacturer’s instructions. These factory-preset torque wrenches are foolproof – nothing to set or adjust. The wrench handle "breaks away" slightly when proper torque is reached. Preset torque value is clearly stamped on the handle and the handle grip is color coded to minimize errors. Fits 2" and 3/4" round-head plugs. Choice of machined steel or non-sparking bronze wrench head. Both types have an 18" tubular steel handle for great leverage.

The non-sparking bronze wrench has a torque rating of 20 ft-lb for 2 inch plugs and 9 ft-lb for 3/4 inch plugs. This bronze preset torque wrench is designed to be used with nylon/polypropylene plugs and a rubber/polyethylene gasket. To reduce errors, the preset torque value is clearly and conveniently stamped on the handle, and the handle grip is color coded red.

There is nothing to set or adjust with these factory-preset torque wrenches. When the proper torque is reached, the wrench handle "breaks away" slightly. A 14" tubular steel handle provides excellent leverage. To comply with the container supplier's torque requirements, make sure to follow the container manufacturer's closing instructions.
