Directions for filling and use of Aquatank Water Storage Bags
Aquatank has two openings: one for filling and the other located near the front(label) for draining.
To fill, simply unscrew the cap on the fill opening and fill the garden with a NEW, food-grade garden hose*, through the sleeve. The (red) faucet should be in the "off" position and screwed on tightly to the drain opening at the opposite end of the bag near the Aquatank label.
Once it is filled with water, replace the cap on the fill sleeve. When the tank is almost full, push against the back of the unit to raise the fill sleeve up higher. This may help you get the maximum number of gallons into your Aquatank. Alternatively, place the unit on a slight angle making the faucet slightly lower than the fill side.
Place your Aquatank on a clean level surface which is well supported. it would be prudent to place a tarp under the Aquatank before filling. Therefore, the smaller sizes can be moved by dragging the tarp.
Other Considerations:
Store your unused Aquatank in a safe, cool, dry and clean place. If you are reusing the Aquatank, repurify it by swishing it with a mixture of 2 gallons of water and 8 drops of PuroGend Water Treatment and then fully drain. Now you can refill the Aquatank. The purity of the water in Aquatank is only as good as what you put in it. Use municipally treated tap water if possible for filling the Aquatank, mixed with 1 ounce PurogeneŽ Water Treatment per 30 gals of water storage capacity. When using water from your Aquatank for drinking, use a ceramic filtration system such as AquaRain or Waterworks II to remove residual chlorine or other chemicals as well as microbiological contaminants which may not have been killed by the bleach.
Note: Wrinkles and creases in the material will not affect performance.
Precautions:
Do not stand, lie, or site on Aquatank and keep all sharp objects away.
Keep all animals away from Aquatank
Although the material used to make Aquatank has a strong chemical resistance, do not spill any oils, solvents or chemicals on it. Immediately wipe off any chemicals that may get on it.
Be wary of any spill or leak potential. Place Aquatank in an area where leaks or spills will not affect anything else.
Do NOT store Aquatank in an attic. Remember that water weights 8.33 pounds per gallon. Therefore, a mere 60 gallons weights just under 500 pounds.
