This 16 1/2 gallon fiber drum is designed, manufactured, and certified to meet UN requirements for shipping hazardous materials under DOT 49 CFR with a UN rating of 1G/X75/S.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: This round fiber drum is to be used ONLY with solids; this fiber drum is not compatible with liquids.

    Answer: Yes. Thanks to its natural raw material (Wood Fiber), the fiber drum is much more ecological. It is easily incinerable. It is thus recyclable and can be eliminated more easily. In the event of a fire, it is not likely to implode, which can happen with a steel drum.
